Beware. I purchased this item as a gift. I also purchased expedited 2-day delivery since it was a birthday gift. The item showed "In-Stock" as I'm sure it does now. A week later and I still have nothing. I asked DB to refund the additional cost of 2-day shipping and they told me to get lost.
Selling an item that you cannot or will not provide (2-day shipping) is fraud, anyway you look at it. Will never deal with these folks again.

The microscope has a 'cool' factor so I bought it a couple of years ago. It worked great!
The issue I had was that I have the previous version of the Digital Blue software/microscope and when I switched to Vista, the Digital Blue software didn't recognize that the microscope was plugged in. I wasn't able to find a driver online to fix it. I e-mailed the company and received an immediate response asking the version (version 1 has the butterfly on the CD) and whether my version of Vista was 32- or 64-bit (found by Start->type "system"->tools->system properties).
It was nice that they were responsive and I just e-mailed them back the information they needed. I will update with the results when I hear back.
Update 11/21/09.
I talked to tech support and they first had me try a few things and then they mailed me a software CD with version 1.0.1 and my microscope now works perfectly! I'm updating my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars.
